Gerardo Paez Alonso leads SvN's landscape architecture practice, championing public realm and open space planning where infrastructure, urban design, and landscape architecture integrate seamlessly. With nearly two decades of experience, he brings comprehensive vision to complex projects at scales ranging from city planning to detailed design and contract administration.

As principal at SvN, Gerardo’s landscape-first approach to design has shaped  public realm design, parkland dedication strategies, open space planning and revitalization projects across Canada and Mexico. His vision ensures ecological principles drive regenerative design solutions from concept to completion.

Gerardo's balanced professional experience spans both private and public sectors. He worked for eight years with the City of Vaughan, immersed in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre portfolio overseeing planning, design, and implementation of parks, open space, and public realm. He previously worked with three award-winning multidisciplinary Toronto firms. Gerardo earned his Master's degree in landscape architecture from the University of Toronto and his undergraduate architecture degree from Universidad de las Américas - Puebla in Mexico.
