Shoppers World Brampton is a catalytic redevelopment in Uptown Brampton that will transform the existing 53-acre shopping centre site into a sustainable community and destination that is vibrant, mixed-use, connected and transit-oriented. The proposed development is a mixed-use neighbourhood of medium- and high-density buildings, featuring best-in-class community amenities, a network of exceptional open spaces and a retail destination for the 21st century. The redevelopment represents an opportunity to transform the site into a new community that is not only resilient to climate hazards but also greener, healthier, and has a smaller environmental footprint. The redevelopment proposal's full build-out is expected to span 20 or more years, with the first phase planned to begin in 2020.

In the first phase of development, a major new, central open space will be introduced, which extends Kaneff Park with new streets and green connections to the Etobicoke Creek and extensive trail system beyond. The plan's priorities are to integrate transportation and urban design best practices to leverage investments in the Hurontario LRT, which terminates at Shoppers World. SvN is currently bringing the project through a rezoning process as planners, landscape architects, urban designers and contributing architects. RioCan Management Inc. (RioCan) is proposing to redevelop the Shoppers World Brampton shopping mall into a sustainable and walkable transit-oriented com­munity, and to revitalize the site as a retail destination for the 21st century.
