Places to Grow is the Province of Ontario’s award-winning plan for 21st century development across the Toronto-centred Greater Golden Horseshoe region. As a core member of the planning team for the initiative, our firm helped refine planning policies and density targets, and tested their application to various jurisdictions throughout the region.
SvN developed an image library for the plan, which illustrated what successful, sustainable, intensive growth will look like, as the policies of the plan are applied across the region. The Places to Grow Plan won the Daniel Burnham Award from the American Planning Association and Awards of Excellence from both the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planner’s Institute.
