SvN’s Enhanced Leadership Team Announced

SvN Architects + Planners strengthens our local leadership and expands into new markets with four new management positions; two new Partners, a Director of Latin America and a Director of Digital Practice.

These new appointments build upon their unique strengths as a transdisciplinary practice, committed to delivering holistic city-building solutions for both public sector and private sector clients.
“As we continue to guide our clients in navigating a myriad of complex urban growth challenges in the GTA and in cities across the world, we always strive to be nimble in our approach. The leadership we set up within our firm reinforces our ability to maintain a high quality of transformative urban design and real estate solutions efficiently across the board,” says Drew Sinclair, Managing Principal, SvN.

Jonathan Tinney, Partner & Principal Planner

Joining SvN’s Leadership Team as a former Chief Planner for the City of Victoria and Principal with Stantec, Jonathan Tinney will lead some of the firm’s most complex urban policy, economic, and transit-oriented development projects. He wholeheartedly understands the opportunities to maximize public benefits in concert with private-sector return on investment. Notable projects in his portfolio include the award-winning, sustainable community UniverCity, the Hurontario LRT, the Scarborough Town Centre Subway Station, and the implementation of the Canada Line expansion to Vancouver's rapid transit network.

Nadeem Sumar, Partner & Chief Financial Officer

As an expert in benchmarking SvN’s operational performance, Nadeem continues to apply his financial planning and analysis expertise as Chief Financial Officer to ensure projects run efficiently and on budget. He has been a key factor in the firm’s growth and capacity to work with multifaceted and non-traditional client groups since joining the firm in 2017. Before joining SvN, he spent several years in real estate accounting while gaining unique experiences in change management and financial governance. As the firm’s newest Partner, Nadeem will play a critical role in facilitating and executing strategic objectives to deepen the firm’s acumen in operations, business development, and technology.

Ana Espinosa, Director of Latin America

Bolstering SvN’s established presence in Latin America through its SvNMX brand and portfolio, Ana will be overseeing SvN’s regional work in Mexico. She will continue to lead the firm’s work on projects like the Regional Tourism Action Plan for the State of Sinaloa, the Culiacan River Revitalization Master Plan, and regional tourism-focused developments in Sinaloa, Cancun, Acapulco, and Veracruz. Ana brings a robust landscape architecture and urban design practice to advance transit-oriented projects, like the award-winning Six Points Interchange in Toronto. Her global expertise and design impact make her a fearless director that can take bold ambitions and have them come to fruition.

Terence Tourangeau, Director of Digital Practice

The role of technology in cities and the business landscape of real estate development is continually changing. As Director of Digital Practice, Terence will navigate realms of computation design and virtual collaboration to extend the knowledge infrastructure that underpins SvN. As an accomplished architect with over 14 years of experience, he understands the power of cutting-edge digital tools such as GIS applications, Ratio. City, and Cove.Tool Energy Modelling. Terence is equipped with the tools, knowledge, and innovative thinking to elevate SvN’s ability to innovate as leader in digital practice.
