Universidad Iberoamericana Campus

People-centered design drives every intervention. Our approach begins with listening to and connecting with the university community, creating design solutions that respond to their needs. By integrating food service, study areas, social spaces, and landscape experiences, we're establishing a framework for campus life that supports both formal learning and informal community building in outdoor environments that are biodiverse, sensitive, and unique.

Great campuses are defined not by their buildings, but by the spaces between them. It is where chance encounters spark new friendships, quiet corners invite reflection, and vibrant gathering areas bring diverse communities together. The comprehensive campus revitalization program encompasses three interconnected projects: Landscape Master Plan (Paisajismo), Rooftop Garden (Jardín Azotea), and El Cubo Cafeteria. Our integrated approach creates vibrant outdoor gathering spaces, enhances existing facilities, and establishes a unified landscape identity that promotes community connection, biodiversity, and well-being across the IBERO campus. Just as the university's architecture creates fluid connections between buildings, our design unifies all green spaces through continuous landscape interventions that invite gathering, learning, and social interaction.

The comprehensive paisajismo strategy revitalizes green spaces, converting them into emblematic gathering points with new outdoor work areas and comfortable social zones. We're implementing a coherent plant palette that promotes biodiversity while organizing the diverse species currently present across open spaces. Unified signage and branding throughout all areas reinforces IBERO's values and identity.

The Rooftop Garden creates an outdoor oasis from underutilized space. Spanning approximately 2,700 m², our design creates continuity and connection across three distinct areas of this expansive exterior terrace. We've carefully considered integration with existing installations, circulation safety, and architectural guidelines while respecting site conditions including views, prevailing winds, and solar exposure. Each area has distinct characteristics: one flexible and open, another spatially defined by surrounding buildings. Both are unified through consistent materials and our central concept of creating a Green Oasis for the university community.

El Cubo Cafeteria establishes a new model for campus social spaces. This carefully designed facility seamlessly connects interior dining with outdoor spaces, allowing natural light and ventilation to flow throughout. Warm wood finishes, including acoustic ceilings and wall panels, create both aesthetic appeal and acoustic comfort. The illuminated bar, adorned with mosaics and linear lighting, serves as an elegant focal point that combines beauty with functionality, creating more than just a cafeteria, but a true social hub where design, materiality, and atmosphere converge.

Universidad Iberoamericana's campus improvement program demonstrates how thoughtful landscape architecture can strengthen community bonds while creating a cohesive identity. Just as the university's architecture creates fluid connections between buildings, our design unifies all green spaces through continuous landscape interventions that invite gathering, learning, and social interaction.
