Metrolinx initiated a Station Connectivity Study Project as part of Regional Express Rail. The study considers the connections to Main Street Subway Station in collaboration with City Planning and TTC staff. SvN developed streetscape concept plans to strengthen the relationship of the station redesign with regards to TTC transit facilities.
This Danforth GO Station Area & Connectivity Plan:
- Recognizes anticipated growth in ridership and local population/employment, as well as ridership increase from future rail service improvements and City of Toronto planning initiatives such as the Danforth Avenue Planning Study
- Considers all modes of transportation and active, transportation access improvement to the surrounding area
- Analyses opportunities to improve access, circulation, and integration of buildings and other facilities on site with the surrounding urban fabric
- Demonstrates how the Danforth GO Station redesign option may integrate into the existing and surrounding urban fabric
- Provides conceptual connectivity guidance for the City Planning led Danforth Avenue Planning Study and Metrolinx Danforth
