Weston Park Residences and Community Hub

Weston Park Residences and Community Hub

Vibrant transit-oriented communities start with understanding place. The Weston Park Development sits at a pivotal location where heritage meets opportunity. Our design carefully relocates the historic Weston Park Baptist Church within the site to create a large public plaza at grade, while preserving and integrating a heritage flatiron building into new community and cultural facilities for the neighbourhood.
The public plaza anchors a new civic presence in the neighbourhood. By thoughtfully relocating the Baptist Church to create this generous public space, we're establishing a community gathering point that celebrates the area's heritage while providing flexible space for markets, events, and daily social interaction.

The community-programmed podium becomes the heart of neighbourhood life. Working alongside the Weston Park Baptist Church and local residents, we've designed multipurpose spaces, a sanctuary and performance hall, a full-sized gymnasium, and community gathering areas that satisfy the needs of existing and future service providers in the Weston-Lawrence area. Small-scale retail at grade activates the streetscape and supports local economic vitality.

Two residential towers rise from this community foundation, offering new housing within walking distance of multiple transit lines. The towers complement each other with unique forms and provide residents with expansive views of Toronto's iconic Humber Valley. Beyond their striking architecture, both buildings are designed to consume less energy, meeting or exceeding sustainable building initiatives.
Our partnership approach ensures authentic community engagement. We're collaborating with Castlepoint Numa and the Weston Park Baptist Church throughout the design process, with specialized support for transit-oriented development interface and integration with Metrolinx. This collaborative framework ensures the development serves both existing residents and newcomers to the area.
