Building 4 represents a new generation of cannabis facilities, where research and cultivation work hand in hand. SvN designed a 370-square-metre horticultural research and development lab that houses proprietary genetic breeding alongside spaces for analyzing metabolite enhancement and testing new lighting technologies. The entire facility operates as an integrated system where automated dehumidification, lighting, watering, and nutrient delivery are controlled by central systems, enabling precise environmental control that supports both production and scientific goals.

Modern open-plan office space featuring workstations, private meeting rooms, and floor-to-ceiling windows offering city views.

The New Facility will serve as Cronos' center of excellence, providing a platform for top plant scientists, chemists and pharmacologists to advance the science of cannabis.

Mike Gorenstein, CEO of Cronos Group

Introducing a cohesive work environment between plant employees and administrative staff was central to the design of Peace Naturals’ corporate headquarters. Considering that cultivation employees are required to work in artificial light conditions, we extended floor to ceiling glazing around the shared staff lunch room, allowing for optimal access to natural daylight and views.

The 2,800-square-metre post-harvest area meets Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) requirements with clean room specifications that ensure product quality and safety. These spaces involve the critical transition from cultivation to finished products, housing drying, storage, packaging, and oil extraction facilities. This technical complexity required innovative design solutions that adhere to strict environmental controls while enabling efficient workflow throughout the facility.
