Valerie Hough

Landscape Architect

Valerie is a landscape architect with seven years experience in the field. She enjoys the process of taking a project from conceptual ideas and making it work on the ground and in the real world, and draws joy from seeing a project built and loved by the community. She has worked in a variety of engineering, landscape architectural, and multi-disciplinary offices and on a large range of project types and sizes. Notable project involvement includes work on streetscapes in Almonte and Smith’s Falls, the multi-faceted Wateridge Village development in Ottawa, and ten stations on Ottawa’s Light Rail Transit system.

Valerie holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph. She was drawn to landscape architecture through her belief in the connection between humans and the natural world, and the importance of landscape architects in fostering that relationship.
