Sing Zixin Chen is a Landscape and Urban Designer at SvN. Sing holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto. Upon her graduation, she received an Honour Student Award in the Urban Design category from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), and an image of her work is on the cover of the September 2020 issue of the society’s official publication: Landscape Architec-ture Magazine. Sing also received an honour award from the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) National Design Awards 2020.

Sing previously completed a master’s degree in urban design at University of British Columbia as well as a Bachelor of Community Design Honours degree, where she majored in Planning and Urban Design, and minored in Geography (GIS Certificate) at Dalhousie University.

In addition to her previous work at the URBANUS Architecture Studio in Beijing and Canadian Urban Institute in Toronto, Sing has held a GIS library assistant position for three years at the Map and Data Library, University of Toronto. Her cross-disciplinary background in planning, urban design and landscape architecture allows her to comprehensively plan and design complex, urban infill projects. Sing is interested in analyzing urban issues and learning about how landscape and urban design can be used to find long-term solutions for the built environment that balance human, ecological and economic impacts.

Sing is an Associate Member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA) and is working towards full membership.
