Sandy's architectural experience includes projects encompassing new construction, adaptive reuse and the renewal of existing buildings benefitting their larger community context. Through an authentic and considered approach, he has managed and coordinated project teams for complex renovations of post-secondary academic institutions, healthcare facilities, science and technology-based projects, and sports and recreation facilities, in addition to building new civic and community-centred, commercial, multi-unit residential and custom residential design projects. Projects at SvN comprise the residential and mixed-use development design and master planning relating to Ontario Line, Toronto's ambitious extension of its mobility-related infrastructure; the Oakville Creative Campus Preliminary Design and Feasibility study; and several other design and feasibility studies in the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area (GTHA). With 30 years of creative exploration through roles in urban planning, graphic design and marketing—including co-founding and operating a successful independent record company (Sonic Unyon Records) throughout the 1990s—Sandy decided to pursue architecture. Building on his undergraduate studies in urban and regional planning at the University of Waterloo, he eventually received his Master of Architecture from the University of Toronto.
