Growing up in India, Ronak was exposed to the disproportionate allocation of resources at a large scale due to the sheer size of the population. He observed that in communities that were underserved, people began to create their own small-scale solutions to community needs—innovation fueled by necessity.

Through his studies and various community engagement workshops, he has been fascinated by this idea of micro-urbanism, and has been inspired to explore how simple, efficient and collaborative design with the communities can be incredibly impactful. Understanding that goal of urban design is to have a positive influence on the lives of people, Ronak recognizes that design can happen at all scales and seeks to find solutions to the true needs of a community. He appreciates that small, meaningful design interventions can have a profound effect.
