Lina Al-Dajani
Senior Associate, Urban Design Lead
MLA, BES (Hons), MCIP, RPP, CSLA, OALA
Lina fosters the integration of planning and design disciplines on urban infill and regeneration projects for both private and public sector clients as Urban Design Lead at SvN. She strategically works with clients to define ambitious and tangible goals that are shared by community and authorities, building understanding and consensus among all parties involved. Lina believes that successful projects benefit the client, community and environment, and she develops a strong framework to ensure growth and sustainability beyond her involvement.
Lina’s expertise includes master planning for large sites, such as the 53-acre Shoppers World Brampton redevelopment located in Uptown Brampton and at the terminus of the Hazel McCallion LRT line; the award-winning Trent Lands and Nature Areas Plan, which sets the framework for growth for Trent University’s 1,400-acre riverfront campus in Peterborough; and the Rail Deck District, which envisions a new community and public park in the heart of downtown Toronto and above the existing 17-acre rail corridor between Bathurst Street and Blue Jays Way. As part of her role, Lina has spearheaded the engagement process for these and other projects around the City, developing relationships with staff, neighbourhood groups and the public, achieving congruence through clarity of common objectives, leadership, and communication. She also seeks opportunities to integrate climate-positive design, especially through an ecosystems-based design lens.
Lina is a registered professional planner (RPP) and a licensed landscape architect (OALA) with over ten years of experience. She holds a BES in Planning (Honours) from the University of Waterloo, and an MLA from the University of Toronto. Lina is also the Chair of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Task Force.
