Katerina Gloushenkova
Intern Architect
Katerina is an Intern Architect at SvN with 8 years of professional experience. Prior to joining SvN she has worked with Giannone Petricone Associates and MMM Group (now WSP). Katerina has a broad multi-disciplinary background in architecture, landscape architecture and urban design. She has worked on a range of projects in both private and public sectors, including community centres, university expansion projects, mixed use & residential communities, parks and masterplans. Most recently she was instrumental in coordinating OPA/ZBA submissions for two large master planned developments in Toronto. She was also involved in the Comprehensive Plan for the Holy Cities in Saudi Arabia, a master plan for Beare Hill Park on the site of a former landfill, and detailed design and implementation of portions of Downsview Park, such as the Orchard.
Katerina has a passion toward the role of architecture as a public good: how design can serve to advance the goals of a sustainable future, and how it can support human dignity and social empowerment. Her academic work and research at the University of Toronto has explored these questions, culminating in her thesis that addressed the intersection of climate and social vulnerability in Atlantic City, NJ.
Katerina holds a Masters in Architecture from University of Toronto, where she received Heather M. Reisman Gold Medal in Design upon graduation.
