Anthony Greenberg
Senior Associate, Development Planning Lead
As SvN’s Development Planning Lead and Senior Associate, Anthony has been a key contributor in cultivat-ing a team of planners who understand design and architects who understand planning. His early-career experience developing policy and planning studies for complex urban areas combined with his current-day expertise in the Ontario approvals process make him a trusted and sought-after source for clients to craft development strategies and secure approvals. Since he began at SvN in 2016, Anthony is proud to have secured approvals for thousands of affordable housing units in the GTHA.
His project experience spans Southern Ontario from Niagara Falls to Kingston however his geography of focus is the City of Toronto – particularly sites in established communities undergoing redevelopment. This work has led to Anthony gaining substantial experience securing approvals on sites with both cultural and natural heritage protections. This includes designated heritage properties (Branksome Hall, 1 Sumach), properties within Heritage Conservation Districts (160 John St, Yonge Street Mission Opportunity Center, 100 Willcocks) and Toronto Region Conservation Authority (“TRCA”) regulated properties (2110 Keele, Wil-liam Jackson Drive, 1 & 3 Superior) including the TRCA’s headquarters itself at 5 Shoreham Drive.
Anthony has been the lead planner on a number of projects for PortsToronto, the federal business enter-prise tasked with managing the Port of Toronto and Billy Bishop Airport, including the municipal approvals for the Outer Harbour Marina, expert witness services at the Port Lands Planning Framework LPAT hearing and a leasing and redevelopment framework for the Port of Toronto at 8 Unwin. The 8 Unwin framework, which sets out a road map for an active waterfront industrial property to incrementally urbanize over time without compromising its critical port function, was well-received by PortsToronto board members and led to an RFP call for prospective site tenants for which Anthony advised.
