Angat Desai

Landscape Designer

Angat is a skilled and ambitious designer who strives to integrate art with landscape architecture as a means of choreographing experiences in a whimsical, vibrant, and ecologically responsible manner. He has a keen interest in community-led initiatives to assist with reconfiguring underutilized spaces and creating adaptable public spaces at the human scale. Angat is deeply invested in his community, through which he breaks through the boundaries of landscape architecture and art to reconstruct preconceived narratives about people, space, and nature.

A graduate of the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape at the University of Calgary, Angat has worked at various landscape architecture firms across Vancouver. He is a member of the British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects (BCSLA).

Prior to joining SvN, Angat played a pivotal role in starting the process of redeveloping Forest Lawn Park in Calgary. He volunteered his time to review development applications, develop grant packages, and facilitate engagement sessions with local Indigenous groups and community members.
