Park(ing) Day Toronto

Our Toronto studio re-imagined five parking spaces as people spaces!

We had an incredible day celebrating Park(ing) Day! Last month, our team transformed parking spaces on Front Street East, across from Berczy Park, into interactive public spaces as part of our installation "Five Spaces for People."

Activation Highlights

Our Streets Are Social
Visitors sat, relaxed, and met their neighbors in welcoming outdoor spaces.

Our Streets Bring Us Together
We invited the public to think about how streets serve everyone equally, encouraging ideas to help expand Toronto's shade canopy.

Our Streets Build Vibrant Communities
We borrowed 54 m² from Toronto’s 5,600 km of streets to let participants imagine how they could transform a small space into something impactful for their community.

Our Streets Are Playfu
Attendees embraced the joy of play, experiencing how streets can be safer and more enjoyable for all ages. We even brought out a custom see-saw we created!

Our Streets Are Filled with Life
We highlighted the importance of biodiverse streets, bringing attention to the plants, birds, and insects that thrive in urban environments.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to explore our Park(ing) Day activations and helped us reimagine the future of our streets!

This year, SvN also partnered with Dubbeldam Architecture + Design, Arup Canada, DTAH, and MASSIVart on a grant program, funding activations across Toronto that re-imagined parking spaces as people spaces during Park(ing) Day.
