Tamara Nahal is a Planner with a background in communications, public policy, and active transportation. She holds a Master of Planning from Ryerson University and a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management with a specialization in Development Studies from Carleton University. She developed her interest in urban topics in Ottawa, where she led a cycling group at Carleton University and volunteered for City of Ottawa committees.
While studying for her Masters, she worked as a Planning and Development Assistant at Ryerson University’s Facilities Management and Development (FMD) department and as a Research Assistant at Ryerson University’s School of Urban and Regional Planning (SURP). Previously, Tamara worked as a Freelance Consultant, in communications and public policy in non-governmental organizations (NGOs), at a bike shop, and at a bike share. She has also written for local newspapers in Ottawa, ON.
