SvN is looking for an Intermediate/Senior Architect and an Intermediate Architectural Technologist to join the design studio and contribute to a number of ongoing architectural projects. These positions are both design and technically focused, requiring individuals that can synthesize strong design intent with technical resolution. These positions will require the ability to work independently as well as contribute to strong teams in our collaborative office. We have a fluid approach to design that encourages input at all levels and are looking for candidates that will invest in projects with the same level of passion that we bring to our work.

Intermediate/Senior Architect
• 8+ years Canadian experience
• Professional Degree in Architecture; registration with OAA an asset
• Highly skilled in construction drawings and building code implementation
• Solid technical understanding of building construction detailing including experience in multi-unit wood construction, mid-rise and high density residential; experience in multiple typologies an asset
• Exceptional design, communication, organization and interpersonal skills
• Strong in Revit, Rhino and AutoCAD
• Strong graphics abilities and capability in presentation drawings
• Project management experience an asset

Intermediate Technologist
• 5+ years Canadian experience
• Professional Degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology
• Solid technical understanding of building construction detailing including experience in multi-unit wood construction, mid-rise and high density residential; experience in multiple typologies an asset
• Proficiency in Revit, Rhino and AutoCAD
• Contract administration experience an asset

We plan and design multi-modal transit hubs and corridors including station area plans, LRT corridors, transit stations and border crossings. We take a systems approach to the planning and design of infrastructure, integrating multiple development priorities while preserving and enhancing the quality of the overall landscape. Key projects include the Fort Erie Gateway Master Plan and the Allen District Urban Guidelines & District Plan.
We provide comprehensive support for approvals under the Planning Act that includes: the creation of clear, high quality documentation for amendments to official plans, zoning bylaws and building codes; producing planning applications and planning rationale reports; and representing our clients at Ontario Municipal Board hearings.
Housing is a core focus of our business. We design innovative and adaptable buildings and master plans that respond to the immediate and future housing needs of diverse communities and all levels of income. We have a history of initiating and realizing housing projects that fill critical gaps in the market, and that are sensitive and adaptable to evolving cultures and contexts.
We undertake site analysis studies, from site scale up to secondary plan scales.  We work with developers and public agencies such as Build Toronto and Ontario Infrastructure and Lands Corporation to complete due diligence and Highest and Best Use Studies for their lands. 
We prepare detailed Design Guidelines for municipalities in order to advance the policies, goals and objectives of Official Plans and Official Community Plans, specifically those related to the design of streets, parks, open spaces and buildings. We apply our combined technical and design expertise to the creation of effective and comprehensive guidelines.
We offer a full range of architecture, interior design, programming and construction management services for commercial and retail projects, especially within mixed-use developments. Our flexible designs focus on user experience and the creation of environments that reflect the culture and identity of our clients.
