Every year the Canadian Institute of Planners honours planning projects that demonstrate excellence, innovation, impact on the profession, implementation potential and overall presentation. SvN is proud to announce that EglintonConnects has been awarded the 2015 Canadian Institute of Planners Award for Planning Excellence in the City and Regional Planning category.
Along with SvN, the project team included Brook McIlroy, HDR, Public Work, Antoine Grumbach & Associates, Swerhun Facilitation and Decision Making, ERA Architects, Public Workshop and N. Barry Lyons Consultants. The project was completed for the City of Toronto.
According to the CIP Awards website, the judges felt that “EglintonConnects is an excellent and comprehensive report on the redevelopment of Eglinton Avenue as a multi-modal connector spanning the City of Toronto. The redesign integrates light rail transit, bicycle lanes, and more extensive landscaping into the corridor along with land use and development guidelines for properties lining many kilometers of the avenue.”
