SvN participating in Doors Open Toronto 2017

SvN is excited to participate in the 18th annual Doors Open Toronto. We will be welcoming visitors to our studio on Sunday, May 28, 2017. The Toronto Society of Architects (TSA) has enlisted a select group of architectural practices to open their studio doors for a weekend in May to introduce the public and aspiring young architects and designers to the world of the architectural studios.

Throughout the day, we will present our work on complete streets through a highly graphic and interactive presentation and discussion. The presentation will focus on the reconfiguration of the Six Points Interchange Reconfiguration, the transformation of a major arterial and utilitarian road into a Complete Street with broad sidewalks, space for growing healthy street trees, ability to harvest rain water and improve storm water run-off, and new cycling infrastructure. It will provide an overview of the evolution of streetscapes in Toronto and focus on lessons learned and innovative design solutions that were employed. The presentation will run every hour, on the hour from 10am-4pm.

Thank you to the 200+ visitors who stopped by our studio. It was great to talk to such an engaged public – lots of questions were asked about the Six Points Interchange Reconfiguration project that we presented throughout the day, among others!
